Our honoured dead

As I had a day off work yesterday I nipped out in my village for a walk and I took my camera with me.

I found myself by The War Memorial on top of Castle Hill, so I stopped to take a few shots. Today's shot is of the flowers laid in front on the epitaph on one side of the memorial. I do have another shot from a much more drastic angle which I will post later.

I did process this shot a little differently to start with, making a mono photo with only the flower heads still in colour. I wasn't completely satisfied with the results, not because I wasn't happy with the way it turned out, but more because I liked the subtle colours throughout the image and wanted to include them.
