Holiday

Holiday

This shot today is for my weekly entry for VFXY's website titled 'Vacation', and to remind me that my holiday is not far off.

This is an old shot from the bay of Los Gigantes, in the Hotel of the same name that Nik and I have been to a few times before. It's lovely and quiet there, which isn't really suited for families with children, but perfect for us. That part of Tenerife is beautiful and not all like the Las Americas parts further south, although some areas there can be nice.

Racing for Life 2008

Racing for Life 2008

This is my entry for the Photo Friday challenge titled 'exercise'.

I did mention a while back that I was thinking of putting up an image of the runners in the Race for LIfe challenge and tonight I decided to do just that.

This shot was taken while waiting for my Noo to run past. It really was so great to see everyone running; some for loved ones who had passed on, others just to run to be a part of the day and help the charity in its fight against cancer.

Nik and Thom too

Nik and Thom too

This shot is one from a few I took in London of my friend Nik and his son.

It's only a quick post tonight as I am off to have a swim in a vague attempt to tighten the ol' body up before I go on holiday and have to expose it to people around the pool. I know, i know. A losing battle but if I make an effort at least I can say I tried. ;)

Behind you!

Behind you!

What can I say other than clowns, rather than making me laugh, scare me a little.

I guess I have seen Stephen King's IT a few too many times? Or was it Poltergeist?

The reason I took the shot is the scene reminded me of something out of 'Scooby-doo'. You know? Where a character is looking for a monster or ghost and it is naturally standing right behind them.

Have a break

Have a break

I really didn't realise how much I needed a break until I made it to this bank holiday weekend.

The guys have been feeling it at work too. It has been a mental few weeks but now, at last, we have a long weekend to enjoy. If it feels this good to have a day off I can barely wait until my break in Majorca this September.

A few people have commented (here and in the real world) on my last post so I made another in the series.

If you are wondering about the post processing it involved combining layers (with multiply), selectively masking and altering luminosity and colour, then selectivly sharpening.

Out of the two I think I prefer yesterday's more. The blue tone is slightly more subtle than today's. Anyway see what you think.

This is an old shot from the Rainbows Summer Spectacular 2006.

I was going to post a shot from the pebble beaches of Playa Fanabe, but I stumbled upon the shots from the 2006 event, which I had been looking for all over the place. They were stored in my JPG archive and because I rarely shoot in JPG I didn't think to look in there. So to celebrate I have processed one of my favourites from the day.

The kite flying was magnificent, not least because there was very little wind. Still the kite operator managed to pull off some awesome arial displays.
