Going down

Going down

The laptop has finally shuffled off its mortal coil with a logic board failure.

Consequently with Nik working on our main computer I am unable to get time to post anything other than in a quick hour slot today.

So, in a rather speedy fashion I am posting this shot which I noticed when I posted this. I am not sure if I like it particularly but I don't have the luxury of sifting through my RAWs and I haven't had time to take any new material.

Talking of holidays

Talking of holidays

It does seem an age since we have been on holiday and even longer since we visited Los Gigantes.

I shouldn't complain really. Things are fantastic at the moment and Christmas is around the corner but when I look over some of my old photos I do miss that little bay in the Canaries.

With that in mind today's shot is a nostalgia trip.

Noo's post

Noo's post

My Noo (Nik) has decided that she wanted to post something tonight so here is her chosen shot.

This photo was taken by her dad Malc and is of the two of us snuggling on the beach after one of many feasts that we had at our hotel in Majorca.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to post so it was nice to have NIk make it instead. Thanks Noo! x

Jekyll or Hyde

Jekyll or Hyde

This photo is unusual for a couple of reasons.

One – I don't tend to do self portraits often. I never like myself in the camera's eye, which is part of the reason I try to stay on the safe end of it.

Two – Today's shot is a bit dark for me. I do love photos with drama and that have a grungy, raw feeling but I seldom do any.

Calypso's viel

Calypso's viel

I'm am sure today's shot will not be to everyones liking but I noticed the silhouette of one of our house plants against the sky while I was getting forty winks in our bedroom this afternoon.

The title is a reference to the Greek goddess who tried to woo Odysseus and was a concealer: a reference to the obfuscation of the object by light.

Running low

Running low

I'm running low on material again.

Today's photo is from a while ago when I was taking some shots for work. These two kiddies were patient, helpful and just about the best children I have ever photographed. I can't quite remember what the boy had said but his sister agreed with him and was gesticulating at him to demonstrate this. Don't children just make the best photographic subjects? It will be nice when Nik and I have our own. Not that I am suggesting the only reason I want to procreate is to have something to photograph but it certainly would help. :)

This photo goes with this shot and this from my old gallery.

Watching the watcher

Watching the watcher

I took this photo about the same time that I took this one.

These guys were really out of it and made interesting subjects for both Malc and I.

My laptop is still playing up but at least it is working to some degree. I am on it at the moment and posting quickly in case it decides to pack up again.
