Claw Vs Tower

Claw Vs Tower

The two mill towers at Timken Desford Steel Ltd, Desford, were levelled on sunday.

The mill has been closed for a few years now and slowly, but surely, the building has been torn down.

The whole demolition was marked by a charity event to raise money for the breast cancer centre in Glenfield hospital.

Miss Bitterly Twisted

Miss Bitterly Twisted

I'm not sure anything I say can really explain this shot.

It's not mine; Nik's brother Rik took it at our wedding. It's of Nik's dad who did a surprise act; an homage to Bitter and Twisted who we have seen a few times whilst holidaying in Tenerife.

The Colossus

The Colossus

For a change I thought I'd post something from our honeymoon.

The shot reminded me of illustrations I have seen of the Colossus of Rhodes, hence the title. This was taken by my wife Nik as I recovered from the hot Cretian sun in the sea. I love the way it seems I tower above the landscape. The photograph makes me look immense because of the wide shot and the perspective.

I promised to post this shot for my wife.

I've not much else to say other than I hope to process a shot I've taken at some point. :)

Today's shot was taken by Nik's brother Rik and processed by me.

We have been dying to see our professional wedding photos but they will not be ready for a while, so we have been satiated with other guests' shots. Everyone has taken fantastic pictures and Rik took a whole slew of them. I will process some of the better ones and post them here from time to time.

The whole wedding and honeymoon seems like it was a million lifetimes ago now. :(

We're back in good ol' blighty.

I'd love to say it's great to be here but we'd be lying. It was a fantastic honeymoon and it's really hard to come back to normality.

On the other hand it is nice to be in our own house again with the luxuries that brings, like being able to drink tap water and flush toilet roll. ;)

Minos and Pasiphae

Home time is upon us and I am gutted.

I guess the mark of a good holiday is if you regret leaving it, plus this is no ordinary holiday being our one and only honeymoon. Okay, so we said this is a short honeymoon as we couldn't come away for long (Nik cannot spare the time from university), but honestly, will anything later on feel as special as that first trip away together as man and wife? I guess we shall see.
