I took this shot in Leicester one weekend, when I drove in especially to shoot some photos around town.
Most of the shots I came back with that day were pretty uninspiring. I noticed these stairs in a back alleyway, surrounded by urban debris, with the graffiti scrawled above it. Something interested me about this collection of items, though I wasn't sure what and when I got back home and looked over the capture I didn't think that much to it. It was only recently that, looking over the old RAWs, that I again saw what attracted me the day I took the shot. Isn't it strange when that happens?
I also think the HDR treatment adds to the shot. I made it with 3 shots, 1 stop apart, then combined and tweaked in Photomatric Pro and finished in Photoshop.
