Black Hole Sun

I have been on the computer a fair bit tonight and now have found myself processing another photo.

Now this shot originally was a very colourful flower bud. I just fancied making something a little different with it. As usual I would love to hear what you think.

For the record. I used some Photoshop actions to intensify the colour of the photo. I then turned it mono with a black and white adjustment layer, then tweaked with a few other adjustment layers, cropped and sharpened.

Regarding the title. I just found myself humming Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden and thought it would fit nicely.

Also I have just remembered. I took this shot for my weekly entry for VFXY's circle theme.

To me it looks like a fairy

To me it looks like a fairy tale thing... an invitation to imagine the temperature and texture of it. Great job!

I see what you mean

Just from looking it seems to be something other than what it is. As if you would have to hold it to understand it more.

Thank you for your compliment.

I had a look over your website. You have a very unusual eye. I have to say I loved many of your shots, a lot of which are more akin to fine art than photography.

Nice treatment Dog Man

Interesting treatment Matt. Almost looks like a carbonised flower, brittle and ready to crumble. Nice.

Something different

Thanks for the comment.

Yeah it does look a bit carbonised. I may try a few more like these in the future. Maybe even render a face with the effect?

And no dog yet. I think the other family must have had him by now. :(   (Just to clarify for those who don't know. We were thinking of getting a dog from a rescue home but the one we wanted was reserved by another family).
