A new beginning...

It seems like a long time ago I decided to update my website 'imagi', turning it (hopefully) into something a bit more interactive.

Finally I have got to this stage where I can begin to post content (photos and text) and lay the initial, important foundation that can be built on in the future.
I am hoping to post regularly again to my photoblog. Balancing my time with the construction of this new site and the updates for the old has meant I haven’t kept the blog as current as I would have wanted.

For anyone who hasn't been on my site before this is the new version made using Drupal CMS (Content Management System) for the web. The old (last) version can be accessed in the archive section at the top of the page. In the about section I also give a brief rundown on the origins of this site and its previous incarnations. Simply put it is my photoblog, put together with shots taken in my free time with a few images from events I have worked on.
With any luck the visitors to the site can browse over my photos and leave their opinions, which will be a nice addition to the site rather than everyone simply just looking over my constant ramblings.

One thing I will get out the way quickly is the copyright declaration which is on the end of the about section. Obviously the photos on imagi are mine, and as such cannot be used without my consent. So please don't.

Right with that out the way I guess I better start posting something, while I still have your attention. ;)

This is an old shot (and as many of you know who take photos yourselves, unless you are a professional it can be difficult coming up with new photographs all the time so your archives play a vital role in 'filling out' your photoblog). It was one of the most popular shots I posted to the old site. The young girl was playing near the Montmatre in Paris and as soon as I saw her near the railing I knew the shot had great potential.

As a favourite it also leads the animation on the front page of the new site.

A comment about my equipment
Since I have been taking photos seriously as a hobby I have mainly used Nikon. The D70 was the camera that peaked my interest in digital photography using SLRs (Single Lens Reflex camera) back in 2004. You can read more in the about section again about this camera if you are so inclined.

One thing lastly – As this site is new if you do find things that are broken on the site please email me so I can correct them. In fact even if you have only a suggestion, feel free to post it as a comment or send me an email. It will be appreciated.

Hurrah!

Glad to see the new site is up! Looking good dude! Really showcases your work nicely. Looking forward to commenting on more stuff in the future, have a great weekend!

Thanks for the comment

I just had to put the site up. If I waited for all the things to be working straight off I think it would have taken another month. There are still a few things I can't get to work now (pager in photo taxonomy) which unfortunately are not written yet for Drupal 6 (this one). So things will get better (hopefully) the longer the site is working.

This is where you get your chance to say what you think

These comment areas are one of the main reasons I updated imagi. Rather than it just be my opinions about my photos I want to hear what you think, good or bad.
