Wow I have had two 'Trick or Treats' at my door tonight.
It's nice to see the children dressed up and will adults in
tow. Not sure I would like a gang of youths bangin' away at
my front porch though.
It made me think of the time I lived in Aylestone in Leicester.
There were gangs of teenagers in black bin bags waiting by
the cashpoints on the 31st, shouting "Trick or Treat'
and hoping to get some of my well earned green. Dad wasn't
far away, watching to make sure nothing happened and be more
than happy to partake in any cash that was gained. Wow, that
was 6 years ago. It all seems so surreal to me now.
Quick note: I watched Ultraviolet
tonight and am in utter awe of Milla
Jovovich's body and face. She is amazing, especially for
a chick with small boobs! (not my type at all) I was so impressed
that I had to mention it. What about the film, I hear you
ask. Utter Shyte!
Anyway there was a reason I came on tonight. I have decided
to let my better judgment rule over my creativity and so the
new months photo theme is 'Autumn'. There are two reasons
for this. One, I took some photos the weekend of Autumn stuff
already and Two, we need some shots for work. So two birds,
one stone!
30th October 2006
I did threaten to make an HDR photo and voila! Here it is.
Ian and I did discuss our photo themes and the fact that both of us have had such little time that we really haven't shot much at all. We also discussed this coming months theme. I am still thinking the theme over but I do want to have another month without the need for too much pressure to take photos. It goes against the fun of the hobby and I know Ian has a lot of Wedding Photography to plan and take so he could do without the hassle.
I will decide and post tomorrow.
I was going to update imagi a bit more this evening, You know? See if I actually have anything to say or even put into a blog. However Nikki is feeling ill and I am feeling a bit drained too.
It is the time of year. Everyone is ill and soon we lose what daylight we have so I expect things to get worse.
That said I cannot wait until 'real' Winter is here and there are some beautiful landscapes to be shot.
29th October 2006
Here is another photo (but not an HDR shot again). I will try and take at least one more shot before the new months theme.
27th October 2006
This has been a meaty week at work. I have to say I am glad to make it to the weekend as I am totally whacked out.
I am going to put up a new image here. It's not a HDR but I haven't come across any old images with which to make one with or have shot any new ones that will do. This new photo is an abstract that I like which I came across looking for some Leicester Location Photos I may need for a client.
23rd October
2006
I must say a big thank you to John and Dawn who sent us
a lovely card and present to celebrate our move. That was
so very generous.
I want to thank everyone who sent cards as well. Relatives
from my side of the family, Nikki's folks, Rik
and Luce and everyone who sent best wishes. It was truly
unexpected and totally appreciated. It made the maddening
periods a little easier to stand.
22nd October 2006
Well it's a big hello to everyone again (all 2 of you!).
The site hasn't been updated in quite
a while. What can I say? Was it the monotony of updating imagi?
Was it too much work keeping me away from the HTML? Illness?
No, as you might have guessed, if you read the last entry
from September. Buying a house and
moving is THE ultimate pain in the arse! A real time eater.
It seemed that from day one anyone connected with the move
was destined to 'cock up!'. Solicitors, estate agents, retail
outlets all bungled their little part in this move. The only
ones who managed to go above and beyond the call of duty was
Nikki's parents (see above) and us. The solicitors didn't
get all their checks right (and at 140 quid an hour, how VERY
dare they!). The estate agents gave dodgy advice which lead
to some real headaches over finishing the purchase. Bloody
Sainsbury electrical couldn't give us a date on our new appliances
after taking our hard earned green. So we kicked them into
touch and Currys (yes
I hate to admit it but Currys) came through and got us all
our new appliances in 3 days. There was a slight screw up
over the dish washer but we did get that sorted a week later
(after threatening to cancel that order with them - The same
as we did with Sainsbury except Sainsbury just said, 'Errmm,
yeah, ok!').
We have, however, finally go the house and all our electrical
goodies. We do again smell like human beings as we can wash
our clothes with our new washing machine. So all is well...
They say that getting divorced and moving are the two biggest
stresses in life. I say, no shit Sherlock! (and hence I am
giving serious thought to never getting married as, if it
is as bad as moving, I am not sure I can survive that crap).
Anyway with all the ranting out the way I can actually tell
you, dear reader something of interest?
Actually I don't have anything interesting to say so I will
post some photos and tell you about all my friends and their
lives instead. Ok?
Ian
Bursill and I have the HDR
theme for our photography this month but with him shooting
weddings all weekends and my absence from photography, due
to the move, we have shot nothing. I did, however, manage
to sneak a shot the other day when filling in on some more
jobs for work that had no fookin' photography. They are here
and here.
They are the same shot processed in Photomatrix
in HDR
and tonemapped to give the weird effect. The second image
which looks like some solarisation from an old
New Order cover was the original which I liked and the
second is the image Nikki liked. In the end I couldn't decide
which I wanted to post, hence both.
Ian didn't manage to shoot any emotion shots last month so
I can't point you to any. However he has shot some more of
his daughter Neve
which I suggest you check out.
Minty has got a blog up and running (see here).
Minty has just been to the land of the Rising Sun and has
some great shots from around the city. Nikki commented on
it being the last place she would like to go to visit on Earth
because of the density of the population and the huge skyscrapers.
I have to say I have always wanted to go and I will get the
complete tale of his travels from Minty when I see him later
this year along with all the guys. He did send me a funny
link
about D & D which made me chuckle.
A designer who used to work for one of my works clients is
world travelling at the moment and his blog can been seen
here. I would
give it a look over for some great snaps from the Far East.
I have spoken with the chap (Aaron) but don't know him very
well but I am sure he wouldn't mind people having a gander
over his photos and site.
Right I think that is about enough for the moment. I am bushed!
I hope to get more down on the site when I get time but I
do have a lot of house chores now. Booo!
Oh and check out Scally's new artwork at Rock
Shape Ape. |
