I hope everyone is continuing to have a fantastic year?

I've not been out with the camera in a while but I may get out this month on one of my work's half day creatives; we are encouraged to go out and do something inspiring with half a day. I tend to get a lot of photography done on mine, although I have a hankering to visit Nottingham Contemporary. Hey, maybe I'll do both!

I have a pretty nice walk in most days to work.

While it felt chilly, the countryside was looking beautiful this morning. I didn't have much time but still managed to take a quick shot of the mist on the water.

…and yet more shots of my niece.

This was taken at the same time as this.

I'm not sure if she looks worried, confused or fascinated — and for the life of me I can't remember what she was watching (possibly more of dad building his shed).

I took the opportunity today of taking some more photos of my niece.

There were plenty of shots with more interaction and emotion, but for me I found something interesting in this shot. Considering she is doing very little it amazes me how much she seems to be saying. Also the sheer depth in her eyes is unbelievable.

We’ve just come back from a wonderful holiday in Cyprus.

We went away, in part, to celebrate (or is it commiserate?) my 40th birthday.

As usual, we went on long walks, even longer runs and had a good explore of the island.
