A little bit of fun from the weekend!

Emily and Lexi are so great together. :)

Truly blessed!

My brother-in-law was after an old studio shot of his little girl, so after I processed it ready for print I thought it would make a nice shot for the blog.

Originally called Lexi the Little Ladybird, I simplified the title at the last minute. I mean, trying saying it five times really fast!

Another film shot today.

It's great the way the direct sunlight, pouring in the window, changed the whole shot. Tonally, so different from this. Excellent — love it!

On a similar note: Just built my Konstruktor camera, so I'll try a few shots with this. Might have to wait for some light, it only does 1/80s at F10 and today is just dulls-ville (I only have 200 film). I suppose I could just huddle near a light source?

Something a little different today.

No I don't mean the subject, but rather the medium. Today's shot was taken on my father-in-law's old Nikon FE.

One of my Christmas presents is a 'build your own SLR' kit. I was in Tesco the other day and found some 35mm film so I thought I'd have a bit of a play. As I hadn't made the camera yet — it is supposed to take a few hours, and looking at the fiddly components, I can see why — I thought I'd have a bit of fun with another film camera, and Malc was kind enough to break out his old kit. All the FE needed was a couple of batteries for metering and away I went.

Merry Christmas 2013!

Merry Christmas 2013!

In the greatest tradition of children at Christmas, Emily is far more interested in cookies, packaging and christmas tree stars than presents.

From all of my family to everyone out there — Have a very Merry Christmas one and all! x

While I was messing around on the Mac, I found this shot to post today, which I thought lovely.

(That's a bit of a fib; I found two shots, which I've spliced together to form this photo).

See what you think.

Christmas time at the local farm!

Near us in Mountsorrel, the local farm holds an annual Victorian Christmas Fair. We all popped down there last weekend — today's shot is from that visit. Granddad is teaching Emily to ride the (toy) horsey, much to her delight!
